Bharatiya Janata Party poll incharge for Punjab and union minister Narendra Singh Tomar today exuded confidence that with the hard work of party cadres and blessings of the voters, BJP-Akali coalition will form government for the third consecutive time in the state.  Addressing media persons after meeting party leaders and workers at the party’s headquarters here, Tomar said that winning Punjab assembly elections was of prime importance to the BJP. Exhorting the party leadership, Tomar said that in order to achieve higher targets they set their differences aside and help the party form a government again at the Centre after 2019 LS polls.Tomar said, “The NDA government at the Centre and the Akali-BJP government in Punjab have performed extremely well under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and with this development plank we will go to the masses.  Modi government has been highly successful with its ‘Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas’ approach.  The Congress-led UPA government meted out a step-motherly treatment to Punjab, while under the NDA regime, Centre and Punjab together carried out developmental work bearing the federal structure in mind”.

Tomar said that the Akali-BJP coalition was and old and strong coalition, which brought Punjab out of crisis and put it on the road of development. During the last two years, the no. of National Highways granted to Punjab is far more than ever granted to it. Encouraging the party workers Tomar said that Punjabis are brave and party cadres here have never backed off from their responsibilities. He said that it was due to the hard work of the party workers that BJP had won last time and this time around too their role will be important.Haryana cabinet minister and assistant poll incharge for Punjab, Capt. Abhimanyu said that five years back, such an atmosphere was created in Punjab that the Akali-BJP combine won’t come back into power, but the cadres changed the entire scenario. He called upon the party workers to again repeat history this time around.  Punjab BJP chief Vijay Sampla said that the Akali-BJP combine is all set to return to power for the third consecutive time in Punjab.

Congress is fighting factionalism and AAP’s graph has fallen owing to its own shortcomings.  Sampla said, “Anti-incumbency wave is natural, but such a wave was never there for the BJP in the past and nor is it now. BJP won’t leave the 40-yr-old coalition at any cost and is excited the way party cadres are functioning”.Narendra Singh Tomar, Capt. Abhimanyu and Vijay Sampla today morning held a meeting with the BJP core group. Thereafter, a meeting of core group, state office-bearers, Ministers, MPs, MLAs, constituency incharges, heads of various fronts, district presidents, district incharges, chairmen of boards and corporations, party mayors, chairmen of improvement trusts and district planning boards, chairmen of zila parishads, state spokespersons, conveners of various cells and Mandal presidents belonging to BJP’s 23 constituencies was held at the party headquarters. At the end of the day a meeting of district conveners of social media cells and social media incharges of constituencies was held and stock of poll preparations was taken.
