Terming 27th October as the ‘blackest day’ of Jammu Kashmir history, Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), Muhammad Yasin Malik on Wednesday said that Indian army occupied Jammu Kashmir on this day illegally and that is when the miseries for the people of Jammu Kashmir started and till now we as a nation are striving against that illegal occupation. In a statement issued to KNS, Malik said that that after illegally occupying Jammu Kashmir it was Indian leadership which went to united nations and pledged to hold referendum and provide the people of Jammu Kashmir a chance to determine their future but soon after India forgot its pledges and when people of Jammu Kashmir peacefully asked it to fulfill its pledges it started crushing the voices of Kashmiris with military might.Malik said that Kashmiris ever since actively or otherwise contested the Indian claims of integral part and strived for the liberation of their land and for many years this struggle remained totally peaceful and non-violent.JKLF chief said that “it was India and its stooges who chose military and police might to crush our peaceful struggle and pushed peace loving people of Jammu Kashmir to the wall and because of which in 1988 the peaceful youth of Jammu Kashmir chose the path of armed struggle.
”Malik said that 2008 marked the historical transformation of Kashmiris from violent mode to non-violent mode of resistance but India instead of respecting this transition chose military might to crush it. “Same was done in 2010, 2011 and Indian forces killed hundreds of young and old in Kashmir during an exemplary peaceful peoples revolution,” he said.He said that India has not changed its arrogant approach till now and 109 days of peaceful resistance during which about 100 innocents have been massacred, 20000 have been injured among whom about 600 have lost their eye sights and more than 10000 have been arrested so-far are a glaring example of Indian tyranny approach vis a vis the people of Jammu Kashmir.Terming people who consider Jammu Kashmir issue as an economic, human rights or law and order issue as ‘ignorant’, Malik said that Kashmir issue can neither be resolved by economic packages nor can it be solved by lessening human rights abuses or oppressing people by military and police measures.“This is a political issue related to the determination of future of millions of humans living in Jammu Kashmir and if anyone really wants to do something to address this issue he will have to first accept this reality,” Malik added. He said that Kashmiris despite the illegal military occupation, hardships, miseries, coercions, temptations and hypocritical politics have not shun the path of resistance and struggle and will never do so. “Kashmiris may be a small nation but will continue with their freedom struggle till the achievement of the desired goal,” he said.Meanwhile, JKLF deputy chief organizer, Mir Siraj Ud Din visited Nasarullah Pora Budgam and visited the family of recently martyred youth Javed Ahmad Mir.JKLF leader expressed solidarity with the bereaved family. While condemning the ongoing crackdown across Kashmir valley, JKLF leader strongly condemned the crackdown in Danter Islamabad and Badroo Yaripora Kulgam.
