Expressing resentment over sacking and suspension of government employees from their services, State Congress Chief Ghulam Ahmad Mir Sunday said that “these steps are unwise, bound to hit back at government.”He told KNS that such “repressive measures” would worse the deteriorated situation in Kashmir.“It seems as government wants to put every Kashmir individual in a pain to prove its undemocratic mettle. We urge government to stop all these repressive measures. Let me tell them that it has to reverse all these anti-people decision sooner or later. All these unwise will intensify anger among public who would hit back at the government,” he said.Mir termed the sacking and suspension of EJAC leaders as ‘unwise step’, saying: “What this regime wants to prove by taking all these unwise steps. EJAC leaders are not allowed to discuss their grievances. Government employees are terminated from services. One wonders if the state really has an elected government,” he said“Youth are being jailed, children slapped with PSA, employees terminated from the services, private properties are damaged and what not is happening right now.

Is this an effort of government to restore wage a war against unarmed civilians,” he asked. He said that those who voted for PDP are repenting now for their choice. “The south Kashmir is usually termed as strong hold of PDP in terms of vote bank. The PDP voters are repenting nowadays for having voted for PDP. Not to talk of opposition leaders, the sitting PDP legislators are angry what CM is doing. But they have maintained silence because of the reasons best known to them,” he said.He urged government to revoke the termination and suspension orders issued against government employees. At least 12 government employees of different departments have been sacked while the EJAC president, Abdul Qayoom Wani was also suspended by the government.Scores of EJAC leaders including its president, Abdul Qayoom Wani were arrested on Saturday ahead of their meeting proposed to discuss future strategy against the sacking of government employees. The leaders were today shifted to Kupwara and Baramulla Sub-jail. (KNS)
