Deputy Commissioner Srinagar (District Election Officer), Dr Farooq Ahmed Lone, today convened a meeting of all the Electoral and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers of Srinagar District to review the special summary revision of Photo Electoral Roll with reference to 01-01.2017. The Deputy Commissioner called for strict compliance of the instructions of the Election Commission of India with regard to the updation of regular summary revisions of electors. The elector’s information in prescribed format 1-8 related to draft publication of electoral roll shall be made available by all EROs/AEROs before date of draft publication 31-10-2016, said Dr. Lone.The Orientation/training programmes shall be completed before 25-10-2016 and draft publication of rolls should be made on due date i,e on 31-10-2016.The sufficient number of forms for new enrolments, corrections and deletions shall be made available at all polling stations as well as offices of EROs and AEROs ` and other concerned agencies.The EROs /AEROs shall put on all efforts for enrollment of youths who have attained the eligible age. There shall be special focus to fill the gap of gender and EP ratio .Advance arrangements shall be made for organizing special campaign days with proper monitoring through supervisory officers with regard to the work of BLOs. Public grievances /redressal desks shall be established at district / Tehsil and constituency level, the DC directed.
