A collection of Punjabi ghazals – AMALTAS DE PATTE – by Dr. S.N. Sewak was released by Padmashri Dr. Surjit Patar. The function was jointly organized by Punjabi Sabhyachar Akademi, Ludhiana and Akhar Kav Kabeela, Amritsar in collaboration with Ishmeet Singh Music Institute, Rajguru Nagar, Ludhiana. The book has been artistically published by Satvik Books, Amritsar.A significant feature of this collection is that it is printed both in Gurmukhi and Shahmukhi scripts. Each ghazal can be read in Gurmukhi on the left and Shahmukhi on the right. It aims at helping the Punjabi readers in India and Pakistan to read the ghazals easily. It is also an attempt to serve as a bridge between the people in both the countries.As a part of the programme, Dr. Kulwinder Minhas highlighted the activities of the Akademi and Indresh Meet explained the activities of the Kav Kabeela.
Trilochan Lochi, Manraj Patar, Manpreet, Sukhjinder, and Dr. Deepika Dheer sang a ghazal each from the collection while Dr. Sewak himself recited a couple of his ghazals.Dr. Charankanwal Singh, Director of the Institute, welcomed the guests. Dr. Gulzar Singh Pandher and Dr. Naresh highlighted the literary and thematic aspects of the ghazals. Releasing the book, Dr. Surjit Patar described this collection as a unique effort of promoting peace and friendship between the two countries. Vishal conducted the programme very poetically making it lively and entertaining. Dr. Sewak proposed the vote of thanks in the end.Many literary figures of the city attended this function. They included K. Deep, Sardar Panchi, Malkit Singh Aulakh, Ravinder Jassal and Jasminder Singh Ghuman from Canada, Manjit Singh Mehram, Deep Jagdeep Singh, Gurdip Singh Sibbal, Pawittar Singh Sandhu Avtarjit, Trilochan, Bhupinder, and many others.
