Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Niraj Kumar today chaired a meeting to discuss the formulation and implementation of traffic management plan in the district.During the meeting various issues regarding regulation of traffic system was discussed comprehensively.SSP Udhampur Shailendra Kumar Mishra, ACR Udhampur Subhash Dogra,CEO MC Santosh Kotwal, ARTO Rajesh Gupta and Tehsildar Udhampur Javed Iqbal Rather were present in the meeting.DC directed the concerned officers to ensure strict implementation of traffic rules so that for saving precious lives. He further directed the concerned to take necessary measures to motivate the people especially youth to follow traffic rules while driving. 'Strict action should be taken against the violators',he added.Stressing on the need for generating awareness among the common masses especially the youth, he asked the ARTO to organize awareness camps on 'Road safety'.However DC also stressed upon the CEO MC to ensure the timely disposal of garbage from various sites in the city .Various temporary garbage dumping sites at different places in the district have also been identified, informed the DC.The meeting was also informed that all the necessary formalities have been completed for construction of Solid Waste Management plant at Mand.
