Punjab revenue minister Bikram Singh Majithia today warned the state congress president Amarinder Singh against misleading farmers on debt relief though his “Karza Mukti Yozna” which is nothing short of committing fraud on credulous farmers.Addressing the farmers after distributing a grant for development works in village of village Khera Bala Chak, Majithia said that his proposed “ Karza Mukti” is a hoax to hoodwink farmers and offering them false hopes to garner their support in the ensuing assembly elections. His government in Punjab for five years and Congress at Centre for years had done precious little for the farmers. Ironically, now he is promising poll eve utopia to farmers.“It is strange that Congress always shows its concern to farmers when it is out of power and forget while enjoying fruits of power. This is the same with Amarinder Singh or Rahul Gandhi who too visits farmers when in political wilderness,” rued Majithia. “ If Amarinder is so sure of waiving of farmers debt, he should come forward and file an affidavit to this effect or he should apologize immediately for having misled the farmers”, he added.Majithia said that the SAD always made concerted efforts and successfully articulated Punjab farmer’s aspirations on all forums while the Congress compromised on Punjab’s interests. This is stark and evident.
