Bhupinder Singh Bittu and Gulshan Sharma join AAP

Former secretary of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee, Bhupinder Singh Bittu who contested Khadoor Sahib By-election as an independent candidate in February 2016 and bagged 18000 votes and Former Deputy Advocate General (Pb.) Adv. Gulshan Sharma on Thursday joined Aam Aadmi Party in the presence of State convener, Gurpreet Singh Waraich.Bittu was appointed President of block Congress committee, Khadoor Sahib in 1998. He remained Sarpanch of Gram Sabha Khawaspur from year 2002 to 2007 and Block Samiti member from year 2008 to 2013. He was elected Chairman of Market committee Khadoor Sahib from year 2003 to 2007. Gulshan Sharma's father Pt. Balmukand Sharma has been elected MLA for 5 times from Ferozepur city and served as Cabinet Minister in Punjab government. Gulshan served Punjab government as Deputy Advocate General at Punjab and Haryana High Court from 1990 to 92.

Welcoming Bittu and Gulshan in Party fold, Gurpreet Waraich said that people are fed with the traditional political parties and joining AAP to weed out corruption, unemployment, drug menace and other problems from Punjab. Criticizing Congress leadership Bittu said that the party has completely failed to raise the voice of people and leaders are busy in infighting rather than performing duty of a strong opposition party. He said that Congress has shattered the dreams of people who wanted to do good for the society. Adv. Gulshan Sharma said that AAP is the last hope to save Punjab and he will work hard under the guidance of Arvind kejriwal to work for the betterment of society.General Secretary of AAP, Gulshan Chhabra, Member National Council, Harinder Singh, Vice Presidents Dr. Balbir Singh Saini, Principal Baldev Singh Azad, Boota Singh Ashant, Col. C.M. Lakhanpal, Dalbir Singh Dhillon, Head Ex-servicemen Wing, Capt. Bikramjeet Singh Pahuwindia and Secretary, Major Singh were also present on the occasion.
