A group of IAS Probationers of Uttar Pradesh cadre (2014 Batch) as well as Probationers who are domicile of Uttar Pradesh, presently posted in various Ministries/Departments as Assistant Secretaries, participated in an interactive session with the Union Ministers led by the Union Home Minister, Shri Rajnath Singh, in New Delhi on October 19, 2016.

About 35 IAS Officers of 2014 Batch of Uttar Pradesh cadre as well as Officers who are domicile of Uttar Pradesh, presently posted in various Ministries/Departments as Assistant Secretaries, participated in an interactive session with 11 Union Ministers led by Home Minister Shri Rajnath Singh here today. Addressing the young IAS Officers, Shri Rajnath Singh called upon them to always uphold their reputation and credibility. Asking them to bear empathy for the last man in the queue, he said that the IAS Officers shoulder big responsibility in the district and must win the trust of the common people without hurting their feelings. Recalling his tenure as Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Rajnath Singh asked the IAS Officers not to hesitate to put across their point of view before the Ministers in case of difference of opinion. 

Defence Minister Shri Manohar Parrikar said the IAS Officer being the steward of Administration in the district, should always show concern to the interests of poor people. He asked them to show sensitivity to issues of the Armed Forces personnel and Ex-Servicemen. Minister of Women and Child Development, Smt. Maneka Sanjay Gandhi said as District Magistrates, the IAS Officers should show a sense of compassion and kindness to resolve the problems of the common man. Other Ministers who participated in the interactive session included MoS for Tourism (I/C) and Culture Dr. Mahesh Sharma, MoS for Minority Affairs (I/C) and Parliamentary Affairs Shri Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, MoS (External Affairs) General (Retd.) VK Singh, MoS (Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation) Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Balyan, MoS (Food Processing Industries) Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti, MoS (HRD) Dr. Mahendra Nath Pandey, MoS (Women & Child Development) Smt. Krishna Raj and MoS (Health & Family Welfare) Smt. Anupriya Patel.
