Terming the remarks of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi in which he boastfully equated India to Israel as ‘shameful’; Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik on Wednesday said that by drawing this equation Indian prime minister has actually exposed the brutal anti-democratic behavior of India towards the people of Jammu Kashmir. In a statement issued to KNS, Malik said that “by swaggering about India being like Israel, Indian Prime Minster has actually endorsed the fact that like Israel India too is engaged in suppressing people’s voices by using military might.”He said that it is ironical as well as pity that the prime minister of a biggest democracy, a nation that always takes pride about being the land of Ghandi, a country of 1.3 billion people, is equating it to a nation that is known as an authoritarian state, that stands isolated in whole world for its criminal attitude towards Palestinians and that is yet to be recognized by a big chunk of countries.“By drawing this comparison Indian prime minister has actually endorsed our point of view that India has forcefully occupied the land of Jammu Kashmir and is using all undemocratic means to suppress the peaceful struggle of the people of Jammu Kashmir like Israel is doing in Palestine,” he said.

He said that Modi should know that Israel despite all its suppressive and oppressive actions is constantly begging for its survival and security and despite being supported by USA and despite using all its military might against Palestinians people, it has not and will never succeed in defeating the will of Palestinian people.JKLF chief said that history bears a witness to the fact that no nation, be it big or small, that strived for its freedom and resisted the occupational forces and regimes has ever been defeated by military power or oppression and Indian prime minister should remember that despite all repressive tactics by India, people of Jammu Kashmir will succeed in eliminating the illegal occupation of their land and achieve their independence one day. While condemning the ongoing crackdowns, arrests, nocturnal raids and use of black laws against peaceful Kashmiris especially young boys and youth, Malik said that “whole of Kashmir, Pirpanjal and Chenab areas are witnessing a worst phase of state sponsored terrorism these days.”He said that even in 1990’s when armed struggle was on its peak and Kashmir was governed by a Governor from Delhi, crackdowns and arrests of this magnitude were not seen.

Malik said today more than ten thousand people in Kashmir ,Pirpanjal and Chenab valley areas have been arrested, crackdowns like that of 1990’s are being held to arrest students, political activists, injured and pellet victims.

“Even lists of injured from hospital are being sought to arrest more and more youth,” he said.He said that recent crackdowns by Indian army, CRPF and SOG in Baramullah, Pulwama, Kupwara and parts of Srinagar etc. are few examples of this condemnable highhandedness.Malik said that “all these atrocities are being committed at the orders of so-called chief minister who in past used to shed crocodile tears on our martyrs, used to organize protest rallies against killings by forces and police and is on daily basis propagating the philosophies of ‘talks not guns’, ‘battle of ideas’ and so on.”JKLF incarcerated chairman said that ongoing oppression has uncovered the double faced politics of these hypocrites and today their politics of deception stands exposed before the people of Jammu Kashmir.Meanwhile, the JKLF spokesman said that the party chief was taken back to Srinagar central jail after medical investigations and checkup.
