Abandoned animals cause fatal accidents in Punjab, authorities inactive on the issue: AAP

If voted to power, AAP to curb the menace within three months

Condoling the deaths of five members of a family in an accident occurred due to abandoned blue bull at Bathinda on Saturday,  Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) took serious note of it and vowed that within three months after coming into power, the party would curb the menace on priority. Releasing a statement here today, Faridkot MP Prof Sadhu Singh and Head of the Manifesto Committee of AAP, Kanwar Sandhu claimed that every year more than 5000 persons get killed in road accidents in Punjab and many of such mishaps take place due to abandoned animals. “The Accident occurred on Saturday also caused due to abandoned blue bull standing on the main road and five members of a family fell prey to such a fatal accident”, AAP leaders said adding that although reports of such accidents appeared in the newspapers almost every day, Akali Government never gave any heed to such a grave menace. “Even during Punjab dialogue with farmers of state, menace of abandoned animals emerged as key concern of the family, who were ruing of damage of their crops due to this”, Kanwar Sandhu said vowing that the issue was already noted and included in the farmers’ manifesto released by the party and said that party would curb the menace within three months of coming into power. Even to bring down the growing rate of road accidents, AAP is coming with a comprehensive measures to be adopted by AAP Government for which a separate Traffic Manifesto was being prepared, Sandhu revealed.
