Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Sangrur MP, Bhagwant Mann has come down heavily on Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal on Monday for his childish remarks daring Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to list his contribution for the country and the state.Head of the Campaign Committee of AAP, Mann said Badal's remarks reflected nothing but frustration and hopelessness after smelling humiliating defeat in the upcoming assembly elections. Mann said while AAP, merely a four year old party, under the leadership of Kejriwal has unleashed a war against the corrupt system and has also been fighting tirelessly for the poor and underprivileged sections, Badal's only contribution to Punjab so far is spreading his family and mafia rule.It is the contribution of Badal only, which virtually converted the Punjab Cabinet as “Badal & Son Private Limited Company”.Badal has failed to respect the honour and verdict of the people who posed their faith in him by electing him chief minister of Punjab for record five times.
"Instead of serving the people of Punjab he has been serving only the interests of his own family. Nowhere in India we have an example where father is the Chief Minister and son (read Sukhbir Singh Badal) is the deputy chief minister", asked Mann.Mann said Badal did not end it here. He went further to ensure his daughter in law (Harsimrat Kaur Badal) became the union minister and son in law (Adesh Partap Singh Kairon) became the cabinet minister. And above all he even ensured a cabinet berth for Sukhbir Badal's brother in law, Bikram Singh Majithia.It was under Badal's government that rule of mafia proliferated and spread its tentacles in Punjab. Badal is directly responsible under whose nose drugs, illegal sand & gravel mining, liquor smuggling, transport and cable mafia mushroomed."It was under Badal's Government that maximum number of people especially the youth died of drugs and narcotics. It was under Badal's rule that special rehabilitation centres had to be opened up across Punjab for the drug addicts including one for the girls in Amritsar", added Mann.Badal who claimed to be the champion to the cause of the farmers has played with their emotions too. "Badal has never made a sincere effort to stop the spate of suicides being committed by the farmers all across Punjab. Badal has done nothing to get farmers' debt waived off which could have given them some respite. Badal has not even bothered to announce moratorium for the recovery of farmers' debt for one year,as advised by Kejriwal, which could have stopped them from committing suicides ", added Mann.
Badal has taken no action against his own agricultural minister Tota Singh who provided spurious seeds and pesticides to the farmers which completely destroyed their cotton crop forcing many to commit suicides.Badal has also overpowered the Sikh religious institutes in Punjab and tried to run them as per his own whims and fancies. This has antagonised the sikh community all over the world and thats why a head granthi at Darbar Sahib in Amritsar even refused to offer him a Siropa (robes of honour) in the month of June. Badal's most glorious contribution to be Punjab is fooling and cheating the electorate of Punjab by hobnobbing with Punjab Pardesh Congress Committee (PPCC) chief Captan Amarinder Singh."For 10 years Badal has been making mockery of the people of Punjab that he was fighting against corrupt Amarinder whom he got booked by vigilance bureau for providing 32.10 acres of Amritsar Improvment Trust land worth Rs. 360 crore to a private builder. However after 10 years Badal has now quietly decided to withdraw the corruption case against Capt Amarinder claiming the latter did nothing wrong. This clearly shows that Badals and Capt Amarinder are one and are jointly fighting against AAP, said Mann.
