District Development Commissioner (DDC) Bandipora Sajad Hussain and Mission Director ICDS Talat Parveez today jointly chaired a joint meeting of officers of Social Welfare, PHE, Health and Education Department to review the functioning of Anganwari centers and the basic facilities available in the centers of the district.The meeting was informed that 19950 children besides 6384 adolescent girls, 3192 pregnant ladies and 2394 nursing mothers are presently registered with the department in the district for providing necessary facilities to them. The meeting was informed that out of 8 Anganwari centres, 2 Anganwari centers would be completed under upgradation programme during this fiscal in the district.The Director on the occasion asked the concerned to make sure that better services is being provided in the centres for the good health and development of children in the district. He asked the officers of Rural Development department for early construction of 4 Anganwari centers at Gurez under convergence plan in phase-I. He stressed for keeping water supply facility and sanitation in all the Anganwari centers. He further said that model Anganwari centers are being established in every zone of the district.Various issues with regards to immunization, Health checkup and pre-schooling of the children and other beneficiaries in Anganwari centers were also discussed threadbare in the meeting.
