Seven militants killed in Langate, Naugam sector

Three militants were killed in an encounter that raged between forces and militants in Langate area of North Kashmir Kupwara district while four more militants were killed in Naugam sector after forces foiled the infiltration bid in the area on Thursday, sources said. According to defense sources, an army camp in Langate area was attacked around 5 AM on this morning. Two army men were injured in the early morning encounter.“At around 5 AM, militants opened firing on an army camp at Langate,” reports said.“The army soldiers retaliated and three of the suspected militants were killed,” sources said.

Meanwhile, soon after the Langate attack, a fresh infiltration bid at Naugam sector in Kashmir was foiled by the army, sources said.As per reports in the exchange of fire that followed, four suspected militants were killed.Meanwhile, Defense spokesman, Colonial Rajesh Kalia told KNS that seven militants were killed in two different places today. “Three militants were killed in Langate encounter while four more were killed in Naugam sector,” he said.He said that the identification of the militants killed today is yet to be ascertained.
