Speaker J&K Legislative Assembly Kavinder Gupta on Thursday inaugurated a SAAF Toilet Complex at Digiana Ashram constructed at a cost of Rs. 12.20 lakh.The Toilet complex is constructed and maintained by Lakshya Social Service Organization.Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Manmohan Singh besides senior officers of JMC and other concerned departments were present on the occasion.Speaking on the occasion, the Speaker said that this complex will facilitate the people and help in maintaining better sanitation in the area.Highlighting the importance of “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan”, the Speaker stressed on involving all stakeholders in effective implementation of this flagship programme in a mission mode.
Speaker said that JMC has successfully launched various campaigns and initiatives to make the winter capital clean. He informed that the corporation has taken in hand the task of identifying new garbage collection points at different locations in addition to existing ones to further intensify the cleanliness campaigns.Kavinder Gupta appealed the people to rededicate their efforts for making their surroundings neat and clean for hygienic and pollution free environment. He also exhorted upon the people to contribute in the mission clean India as a social responsibility.
