The residents of Shivpora area of Srinagar city Thursday staged protest against Public Health Engineering (PHE) department for ‘failing to provide drinking water supply to them from past two weeks.The residents including women, men and children assembled and blocked the main road of the area and were chanting slogans against department. They were demanding adequate water supply in the area.The protests told CNS that the officials are denying the water facility to them from past two weeks. “Despite approaching officials in this regard, nothing has been done,” they said.The blockage of the main road in the area by the residents resulted in the traffic jam thereby putting commuters to trouble.When contacted the concerned PHE official said that the grievance of the people will be addressed on priority basis.
