Painting competition on Wildlife conservation held at Manda Jammu

As a part of wildlife week celebrations, a programme was organized by the Department of Wildlife Protection Jammu at NIC building Manda Jammu.The programme included painting competition on Wildlife Conservation by the school children & the visit of the college students of GGM Science College Jammu to Manda Deer Park Jammu besides the school teachers and Wildlife Officials.The objective of this visit was to educate students about the wildlife and sense of responsibility towards conservation of our depleting faunal species. The students had a round of all animal enclosures and watched wild animals and learnt about their behavior, conservation status, feeding habits, their up keep, maintenance and health care.Suresh Chugh, Pr. Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife)/ Chief Wildlife Warden J&K State was the chief guest.While interacting with the participants he laid stress on involvement of local communities, students and young generation for maintaining Ecological balance and sustainable use of natural resources. He further advised all the participants to take all precautionary measures to minimize the man-animal conflicts.

A.K. Gupta, Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife) Jammu highlighted the importance of conservation of Wildlife and their habitat and appealed to the students to make the state green and safe haven for rich biodiversity of the state. He also highlighted the measures taken in avoiding man-animal conflict. Besides the above the Wildlife Wardens of the department & faculty of the GGM Science College highlighted the importance of conservation of bio-diversity and stressed upon the need to educate students and young generation about their nature heritage. Amit Sharma Wildlife Warden Jammu spoke about the importance of exposing students to the native flora and fauna and importance of conservation breeding programmes and  also gave Power Point Presentation on the working of the Wildlife Department & Man-animal Conflict.
