Minister for Youth Services and Sports, Molvi Imran Raza Ansari, today called for improving sports infrastructure so as to encourage greater participation and promoting sporting culture in the State.Speaking at a meeting to review various ongoing works aimed at improving sports infrastructure in Rajouri and Poonch, Ansari directed the concerned to speed up works so that sports activities are set in time.Secretary, Youth Services & Sports Hilal Ahmed Parray, ADDC Rajouri, Superintending Engineer R&B Rajouri, Poonch, and officers of Youth Services and Sports (YSS) Department attended the meeting.The meeting was follow-up of the earlier meeting chaired by Chief Minister Ms Mehbooba Mufti wherein she had directed to utilize Rs 2 crores for up gradation of sports stadia in twin districts of Rajouri and Poonch.The officers of YSS presented a detailed summary of works going on for these sports stadia and assured the Minister that ongoing works will be completed within the stipulated time.Mr. Ansari directed the officers to identify the works which can be prioritized for this year, and added that later other works would be taken up.
