While strongly condemning the spree of arrests, JKLF said that ailing chairman of JKLF, Muhammad Yasin Malik is languishing in jail from 8th July 2016 and he after his arrest has been kept in solitary confinement.Similarly, JKLF zonal president, Noor Muhammad Kalwal and JKLF activists Fayaz Ahmad Mir from Ganderbal and Shabir Ahmad Ganaie of Kakapora Pulwama, Mushtaq Ahmad Mir of Kupwara, and Assadullah Sheikh after being booked under PSA have been shifted to Jammu, JKLF vice chairman advocate Bashir Ahmad Butt along with zonal vice president Muhammad Yasin Butt and senior member Muhammad Amin Magloo remain lodged at Rajbagh police station, JKLF vice chairman Showkat Ahmad Bakhshi is languishing in police station Humhama, JKLF district president Ganderbal Bashir Ahmad Rather (Boya) is detained at Ganderbal police station while as JKLF zonal organizer Bashir Ahmad Kashmiri is detained at Police station Kothibagh.

JKLF said that thousands of young and old people, students and innocent boys and children have been arrested so far and many have been shifted to different outside jails under PSA as ‘so-called’ rulers continue their efforts to impose peace and silence of a graveyard in Kashmir.

While condemning the continuous curfew and oppression in Kishtwar and other areas of Pirpanjal and Chenab valleys, JKLF also condemned the continuous arrest and house arrest of APHC leaders including APHC (G) chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani, APHC (M) chairman Mirwaiz Muhammad Umer Farooq, Hurriyat leaders Shabir Ahmad Shah, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, Muhammad Altaf shah, Ghulam Nabi Zaki, Ayaz Akbar, Doctor G M Hubbi and Advocate Muhammad Shafi Reshi etc.
