Minister of State for Housing & Urban Development (H&UB), Health and Medical Education, and Social Welfare, Ms Asiea Naqash, has asked officials of Housing Board to gear up their men and machinery for timely completion of all ongoing developmental projects.The Minister said this while reviewing the functioning of J&K Housing Board here today. She directed the officials to expedite work on all developmental projects under the Board, so that these are completed at an earliest. The meeting discussed progress on various residential/commercial colonies being developed by the Board. The Minister was briefed about the future plans for development of Housing colonies in the major cities/towns of the State.Ms Asiea Naqash also reviewed the status of up-gradation of civic facilities in the existing colonies for which funds are being provided under the State Plan. She called for face lifting and maintenance of existing colonies of the Board.
She asked the officers to complete DPRs of new projects and also expedite the process of land acquisition for new projects. There is no dearth of funds and that all the liabilities will be paid by the Government, she added. She asked the Board officials to identify the vacancies in the Department so that same could be advertised on time to augment the strength of the organization.During the meeting, the officials informed the Minister that currently there are 117 works under execution with J&K Housing Board including 79 works of Health and Medical Education Department.The meeting was attended by Managing Director J&K Housing Board Vipra Bhal and other senior officials of the Board.
