Education Minister Hands Over Appointment Letters To 369 Teachers

Education Department Recruited 70000 Teachers In Past 9 Years, Another 14000 Recruitments Under Process: Dr. Cheema

The Education Minister, Punjab, Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema today handed over appointment letters to 369 teachers recruited in respect of various subjects under master cadre. The minister also allotted choice stations to all the newly recruited teachers on the spot itself by calling them in order of merit and displaying list of vacant stations.In an impressive ceremony at the auditorium of Punjab School Education Board, the newly recruited 369 teachers were invited which included 130 D.P.E.s, 109 P.T.I.s, 67 Home Science, 45 Agriculture and 19 Music teachers. The teachers were called as per merit and the list of vacant stations was displayed to them. Afterwards, Dr. Cheema gave station allotment letters along with appointment letters to all the teachers.Welcoming all the newly recruited teachers into the department, Dr. Cheema a teacher plays a great role in instilling discipline into the atmosphere of school and he has big hopes that the D.P.E.s and P.T.I.s would inculcate academic as well as sporting values among the students.

Divulging more, Dr. Cheema said that the Education department has recruited nearly 70000 teachers during the past 9 years and the process to recruit another 14000 teachers is currently underway which would be completed in October. This comprises 6040 master cadre and 2005 E.T.T. teachers. He also disclosed that no post would be left vacant at primary level in any school by 31st March, 2017.Earlier, addressing the gathering D.P.I. (Secondary Education) Mr. Balbir Singh Dhol said that due to the untiring efforts of the Education Minister important steps have been undertaken to ensure quality education which is evident from starting meritorious schools, upgradation of schools, recruitments and promotions of teachers on large scale.On the occasion, Director (Administration) Ms. Gurpreet Kaur Dhaliwal, Director SCERT Mr. Sukhdev Singh Kahlon, Deputy Director Mr. Lalit Kumar Ghai, Dr. Ginni Duggal, Mr. Dharam Singh and Mr. Harpreet Inder Singh Khalsa were also present.
