Punjab Education Minister Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema today called upon people to follow teachings of tenth sikh Guru Sri Guru Gobind Singh Sahib that all human beings are creation of same almighty.Addressing a state level function organized by the Himachal Pradesh Government on the 350th prakash Utsav of Guru Gobind Singh Sahib, on behalf of Punjab Chief Minister S. Parkash Singh Badal, Dr. Cheema said that Guru Gobind Singh ji has launched a war against discrimination on the basis of caste, colour, creed and religion and it was a war against the suppressive policies of the rulers of the time. He said that this war was not directed against any particular religion which was proved by the huge support and participation of great personalities like Pir Budhu Shah, Diwan Todar Mall, Nathu Ram Khaira, Nura Mhai and others who supported the Guru Sahib’s efforts and even made supreme sacrifices. He said that the war of Guru Sahib was against the policies of the rulers and was directed to safeguard humanity.
Dr. Cheema said that even today we should follow teaching of Guru Sahib and realize that all the humans are creation of a single almighty and we can create a healthy, progressive and constructive society by following ideals on non discrimination on the basis of religion, caste, colour or creed. He said that these teachings are guiding principles for us to work for betterment of all. He said that sikh history is full of teachings on social equality and collective progress of mankind.Congratulating the Himachal Pradesh government for organizing a galla function to mark the occasion of 350th Prakash Utsav of Guru Gobind Singh Sahib, Dr. Cheema said that Guru Gobind Sahib had sacrificed his whole family for the sake of humanity . He said that the HP government has taken a good initiative for organizing this fuction which will be remembered for long.
On the occasion Dr. Cheema announced that the Education Department of the Government of Punjab will launch a portal to teach Punjabi language online. He said that Punjab School Eduation Board has been entrusted with the task of launching this portal which will be launched soon. He said that this portal will prove helpful for the people settled abroad and in other states in the country. He hoped that this will help the present and future generation of the Punjabis settled abroad to learn Punjabi. The Punjab Education Minister also invited people to participate in the galla functions being organized to mark the 350th Prakash Utsav of Guru Gobind Singh Sahib and 50th Punjabi Suba celebration being organized by Punjab government.
