Three days Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp was held at Ludhiana College of Engineering and Technology Katani kalan, Ludhiana in collaboration with STEP. The students were given invaluable knowledge and tips about starting a business. On day one Prof. Sunita Sharma, Registrar, STEP explained the importance of behaviour and body language by giving very good and live examples and Prof. Nirmal Singh Grewal, Executive Director, STEP, highlighted the charms of being an entrepreneur. He also threw some light on the help one can get through STEP for starting a business. Students were later, explained about the importance of marketing techniques and were shown a very intriguing video about Bios Incube which is a concept of turning cemeteries into forests.
Students were imparted that a small idea can work wonders and create a business worth millions of rupees.On day two Er. S.S. Grewal, Head Department of CSE, RIMT, explained the need of effective business plan and gave examples about art of selling. where as R.K. Parmar, Assistant Director, MSME Development Institute, Ludhiana, gave the overview of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME). Students were also explained the Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme through which one can have grants from government, those too at subsidized rates.On the concluding day, Prof. Parvinder Singh, Head, Department of Business Administration, GGNIMT, Ludhiana, explained different management strategies which can help the entrepreneurs to succeed.
Prof. Puneet Singh, Head STEP-GNDEC, explained the importance of digital marketing. Students also got a chance to visit different sections at STEP premises and interacted with entrepreneurs.Vijay Gupta, Chairman, LCET said such interactive session on various nuances are important to excel as entrepreneur. The objective of this session was to create awareness among students about various facets of entrepreneurship as a career option. He opined that such programs are extremely useful for overall growth of the students.
