At least eight policemen were killed in airstrikes mistakenly by the US-led coalition forces in Afghanistan's Uruzgan province, an official said on Monday.Rahimullah Khan, commander of Reserve Battalion of Police in the province told Xinhua news agency: "The foreign forces aircraft targeted police checkpoints in Sagai area outside provincial capital Trinkot on Sunday night leaving eight police personnel dead." Just 800 metres away from the targeted police checkpoint were Taliban trenches but the aircraft pounded a police position, Khan added.The NATO-led Resolute Support mission was yet to make comment on the report.
