Coming down heavily on mob violence against the police, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday said she will bring a law to fine those who torch police vehicles."Suddenly, they are torching police vehicles. We will have to come up with a law. Those who do it will have to provide compensation. I will push for this law in the assembly (in the next session)," Banerjee said at the state secretariat in Nabanna. Her comments come a day after a police station in the state's South 24 Parganas district was attacked.A mob stormed the local police station in Dholahat area of the district accusing the police of inaction in a recent murder of a local businessman. In August, four police officials were injured after being attacked by a mob in the state's Malda district.
