The Punjab Deputy Chief Minister, S. Sukhbir Singh Badal today inaugurated rural sewa kendars in village Talwandi Nipalan (Makhu, District-Ferozepur), Mohan Ke Utar (Guruharsahai, District-Ferozepur) and Sajrana (Jalalabad, District-Fazilka). As part of the first stage, 485 rural sewa kendars have commenced operations in 7 districts namely- Moga, Sri Muktsar Sahib, Faridkot, Ferozepur, Fazilka, Bathinda and Mansa.In his address to the people, the Deputy Chief Minister said that Punjab has become the model state in terms of providing necessary government services to the residents of rural areas sitting in their homes and now the common masses won’t have to make rounds of government offices and can avail the services in a corruption free manner. He said that it has been the target of the SAD-BJP government right from the word go to up-lift the living standard of the masses and provide them the facilities at par with the developed countries around the globe. He also said that the previous 9 years have been witness to the record development in Punjab and he is strongly hopeful that the people of Punjab would give third consecutive chance to the SAD-BJP government owing to the progress oriented works carried out. 

He also announced that on forming the government for the third time, all streets and drains in the all the villages of the state would be given cemented shape.Touching the developmental aspect, S. Badal said that apart from making Punjab a power surplus state, the road network has also been fully strengthened and transformed. Detailing other development and welfare centric measures, he said that Free power to farmers, Free health insurance scheme, Free power to the tune of 200 units to SC/BC families, Shagan scheme, Pension scheme, Free bicycles to school girls, Distribution of sports and gym kits in the villages, Free atta-dal scheme began only when a government under the leadership of S. Parkash Singh Badal was formed in the state. Taking on Congress, he said that Captain Amarinder Singh cannot spell out even a single development oriented measure during his tenure as Chief Minister from 2002-2007. In a dig at the Congress, the Deputy Chief Minister said that Congress did nothing except doing patchwork on roads.

Disclosing more, he said that in October the free medicine and skill centers would be operationalised and also that every year nearly 1 lakh youth would be imparted skill development training to enhance their employability. Branding Congress and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) as anti-Punjab, S. Badal said that these parties are deliberately defaming Punjab on the drugs issue whereas the dope tests conducted during police recruitments completely belie such false accusations. He also said that out of 6 lakh youth tested for dope, the results of only 2000 have returned positive.Labeling AAP Convenor and Delhi Chief Minister as the one with a confrontationist attitude, the Deputy Chief Minister said that kejriwal is a habitual liar who cannot be trusted as he hasn’t lives up to his promises that he made to the people of Delhi before the elections. The Deputy Chief Minister divulged that AAP leaders are involved neck deep in the acts of moral turpitude and are facing the serious charges of desecration of religious texts.

Pooh-Poohing the release of farmers manifesto by AAP, he said that the outsiders assembled by AAP are totally ignorant of the cultural ethos and values of Punjab and kejriwal can’t tell a difference between crop of basmati and paddy. The Deputy Chief Minister giving a call to defeat the congress and AAP in the next year’s assembly polls, said that the overall development of the state is deeply connected with the SAD-BJP government because with governments of alliance parties in power at both Central and State level, Punjab is scripting brilliant success stories with each passing moment.Among others present on the occasion included MLAs Hari Singh Zira, Joginder Singh Jindu, Chairman Avtar Singh Minna Deputy Commissioner Eg. DPS Harbanda, SSP R.K. Bakhshi,
