“The leaders of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) are totally oblivious of the issues confronting farmers of Punjab and the stand of AAP concerning SYL has already completely exposed the farcical sympathetic attitude of the party towards Punjab and its farming community.”Interacting here today with the media-persons on the eve of inaugurating sewa kendar at village sajrana, the Deputy Chief Minister S. Sukhbir Singh Badal said that AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal doesn’t know a thing about the issues governing Punjab and couldn’t even differentiate between the Rabi and Kharif season crops while boasting about his concern for Punjab farmers. He also said that the AAP leader is totally ignorant regarding the knowhow of farming sector for e.g. sowing season of wheat and paddy then how can he frame beneficial plans for farmers.Attacking AAP leader further, S. Badal said that the affidavit filed by the AAP government in the Hon’ble Supreme Court regarding river waters was anti-Punjab and contrary to the interest of farmers of the state in nature which has completely exposed it before the people of Punjab. He also said that “Living in Delhi, kejriwal doesn’t know a thing about farming community of Punjab & its problems.”
The Deputy Chief Minister further stated that the welfare schemes initiated by the SAD-BJP government for the benefit of the farmers are matchless. Elaborating more, he said that the farmers are being provided with the facility of free power since previous 9 years besides covering them under Bhagat Puran Singh Sehat Bima Yojna and now they have been extended the facility of interest free loan up till Rs. 50000. He also said that “People of Punjab surely know as to who is their real benefactor and who is playing dirty politics over farmers’ issues”. Earlier addressing a large gathering here, S. Badal said that a total of 2147 sewa kendars have been established throughout the state in order to provide government services to the people at their doorsteps. The urban kendars have already commenced operations and today another 485 kendars have been inaugurated. He also said that Punjab has become the novel state in itself which is providing government services to the people sitting at their homes in the corruption free manner without having to make rounds of the government offices.
Elaborating more, the Deputy Chief Minister said that apart from making Punjab a power surplus state, the road network has also been given a refreshing facelift with other welfare schemes for e.g. Free power to farmers, Free health insurance scheme, Free 200 units of power to SC/BC families, Shagan scheme, Pension scheme, Free bicycles to schoolgirls, Disbursal of sports & gym kits in villages, Free atta-dal scheme beginning only when S. Parkash Singh Badal led government assumed charge in Punjab.
The Deputy Chief Minister further divulged that free medicine centers and skill centers would also commence operations next month with nearly one lakh youth being trained in job oriented disciplines to maximise their employability chances. It is important to mention here that has 84 sewa kendars have been constructed in the Fazilka district.Afterwards, S. Badal also inaugurated the new police station building at Arniwala constructed at a cost of Rs. 1.5 crores.On the occasion, Satinderjit Singh Manta, Special Principal Secretary to the Deputy Chief Minister---Manvesh Singh Sidhu, Deputy Commissioner Isha Kalia, SSP Narinder Bhargav, ADC Charandev Singh Mann, Arvind Kumar, Senior SAD leader Jathedar Gurpal Singh Grewal, Jathedar Suba Singh Dabwala Kalan, Jathedar Charan Singh Chairman, Vice Chairman Punjab Agro Ashok Aneja, Chairman Sukhjinder Singh Bhullar, Atma Ram Kamboj, Lakhwinder Singh Rohiwala, Pratap Bhatheja, Avtar Singh Kamalwal, Harjit Singh Hira, Mehar Singh and Rachhpal Singh were also present.
