Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chander Parkash Ganga, along with Minister for Rural Development & Panchayati Raj and Law & Justice, Abdul Haq and Member of Parliament, Jugal Kishore Sharma today laid the foundation stone of Block Development Council Complex, Vijaypur.
Speaking on the occasion, Ganga said it is important to equip the administration with requisite resources for effective implementation of Panchayati Raj Act in the state. “The endeavour of the government is to strengthen the Panchayat Raj Institutions (PRIs) and stimulate participatory democracy” he added.Minister for Rural Development said that the focus of the department remains on quality asset creation and rural connectivity for which the department is working with utmost dedication.
“Physical infrastructure is an important element of growth and a prerequisite for planning, implementation and review of developmental activities”, he further said.The building is expected to come up at an estimated cost of Rs.46 lakh in next six months. Once the project is completed with state of art facilities it will house the office of Chairman of Block Development Council, Vijaypur. The Block Development Council is the second tier of 3-tier Panchayti Raj Institutions (PRIs) and consists of Chairman, all Sarpanches of Halqa Panchayats falling within the Block and Chairman, Marketing Society within the jurisdiction of the Block.
