The Speaker J&K Legislative Assembly Kavinder Gupta today inaugurated a Government Health Center at Chatha Pind.To mark the opening of new health center, ‘One Day Free Medical Camp’ was organized which saw attendance by a large number of locals who came forward to avail consultation provided by the team of specialist including gynecologist, pediatrician, physician, ophthalmologist, surgeons and Ayush doctor .A special dispensary was also open to provide people with the prescribed allopathic and ayush medicines free of charge.While speaking on the occasion, Kavinder Gupta said that this new health centre will provide medicare to over 22000 people of 16 villages. He said that this is a step towards augmenting health care facilities to the people at their doorsteps.Kavinder Gupta informed that to begin with, this medical center will have facilities for first aid, pre and neo natal care etc and will be open daily. Doctors will also be available to attend to patients twice a week and keeping in view the number of patients it will be upgraded as a primary health care centre.
The Speaker further said that health care services are one of the essential requirements of the people and it will be ensured that they have an easy access to quality health care .He also announced that the construction and renovation work of the Chatha road is scheduled to start by next month.Urging the people to come forward and make full use of the various centrally and state sponsored schemes, he said that these schemes are specifically aimed for development of rural and semi urban population.By actively participating in the schemes like Swachh Bharat Abhiyan people can help keep their surroundings clean and also provide their families a hygienic 'open defecation free' environment, the Speaker said. He further encouraged people to plant trees and keep their villages clean and green.The Speaker was accompanied by Director Health Services B. S. Pathania and CMO Robinder Khajuria.
