Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today said that the state government has taken several path breaking initiatives to perpetuate the glorious cultural heritage of the state.Addressing the members on the floor of house here today, the Chief Minister said though Punjab had glorious cultural heritage but none of the previous governments had ever taken any step to preserve it. He said that for the first time the SAD-BJP alliance government has taken several steps to protect the history of state. Mr. Badal said gacy of the state.Paying glorious tributes to the great heroes of national freedom struggle, the Chief Minister said that Jang-e-Azaadi memorial was coming up at Kartarpur near Jalandhar at a cost of Rs.300 crore. Likewise, he said that War Heroes Memorial was also coming up at Amritsar to pay homage to the brave Sikh soldiers. Mr. Badal said that in the same manner Bhagwan Valmiki Ji Memorial at Ram Tirath (Amritsar), Guru Ravidass Ji Memorial at Khuralgarh in Hoshiarpur district and Baba Jiwan Singh Memorial at Sri Anandpur Sahib were also coming up to keep our people apprise about the glorious heritage of our state.The Chief Minister said that while none such effort was ever made by successive Congress governments so the alliance government was fortunate to be credited with the preservation of the cultural heritage across the state.
