26503 farmers covered under KCC scheme in Ramban

Around 26503 eligible farmers have been provided Kissan Card Credit (KCC) in Ramban district since the launch of the scheme in the state.  The information was given at a meeting of senior functionaries of Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry, Handloom, Handicraft, KVIB, Fisheries and Industries department here today. The meeting chaired by District Development Commissioner, Mohammad Aijaz reviewed the physical and financial achievements  under district plan and other state and centrally  sponsored schemes in agriculture and allied sectors. District Programme Officer, Ashok Pandita, Chief Planning Officer, Chief Horticulture Officer, Chief Agriculture Officer, Deputy Registrar Cooperative, AD Handicraft, AD Fisheries and other district heads attended the meeting.The DC took a detailed review of the ongoing developmental activities and directed the concerned officers to encourage the public to avail the benefits of schemes. "This will greatly help to achieve optimum result under various state and centrally sponsored schemes envisaging welfare and development of all areas", he asserted. He directed officers of Handloom, Handicraft, KVIB, Industries, Agriculture and allied departments to work in synergy and plan accordingly so that the issues are resolved and economic activities are given an impetus. 

"The honest intentions of the government should transform into sincere execution of developmental projects", he stressed.He stressed on inter-departmental coordination to remove the bottlenecks for timely as well as proper implementation of welfare schemes at grass root levels in letter and spirit. 

The DC also stressed on generating mass awareness about the schemes and programmes of the government to enable the people to avail benefits of the same.Chief Agriculture Officer informed that 11 centrally sponsored schemes are presently under implementation to boost agriculture and allied activities.    He further added that 26503 Kissan Credit Cards have been provided to eligible farmers   so far and the up-coming agriculture laboratory shall also be completed very soon at Maitra.Deputy Registrar Cooperative disclosed that more than 19 cooperative societies are functioning in Ramban along with two stationary shops and one school. He said Establishment of Malls at Ramban and Banihal has also been proposed.The AD Fisheries also informed that four big fish ponds at Gool, Neel, Banihal and Chamalbas have been established to promote fish farming in these areas, while the department is also exploring possibilities to broad base the Trout and other fish rearing units in the district.
