LAWDA continues demolition drive, demolishes 10 illegal structures in Srinagar

Continuing with its demolition drive to remove illegally raised structures, Lakes and Waterways Development Authority (LAWDA) through its Enforcement Wing today demolished 10 illegal constructions/structures in various areas of Srinagar city.Enforcement Officer of LAWDA said the structures were demolished at Brein Nishat Laam, Karpora Cheshmashai, Doji Mohalla NFR and Chandpora Harwan. He said a Naka party of the Enforcement Wing headed by Demolition Incharge laid nakas at different spots of Dal jurisdiction in which one load carrier ferrying construction material illegally was intercepted and subsequently FIR was lodged in the case and vehicle was also seized.Further the Officer said that public residing in the LAWDA jurisdiction are directed not to go for any sort of illegal constructions and Tipper/Load carrier owners are asked not to carry any construction material in the prohibited area of Dal/Nageen Lakes without permission.He said the demolition drive will continue and elements creating hurdles in the process will be dealt under law.
