To finalize the arrangements for celebration of Eid-ul-Azha, Deputy Commissioner Poonch Mohammad Harun Malik convened a joint meeting of officers , civil society members and various religious heads here today.Additional Superintendent of Police, Masroor Mir, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Ashraf choudhary, Tehsildar Haveli jahengir Ahmed besides others also attended the meeting.Arrangements regarding security, maintenance of law and order, traffic regulation, drinking water and power supply, checking rates and quality of eatables, besides sanitation and number of other related issues were also discussed threadbare.Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned officers to ensure that all the arrangements are made well in time. Municipal authorities were directed to ensure cleanliness around Eid- gahs within municipal limits so that people do not face any inconvenience whereas the officers of Food Safety were directed to keep a check on adulteration of various eatables.
However a team of officers was also constituted to check rates and quality of eatables in the market.Later a meeting was also chaired by DC to fix price of mutton, chicken and other commodities, which among others was also attended by ACR, AD FCS& CA, representative of LMD, Inspector Food Safety representatives of Beopar Mandal and Butcher Association.The meeting decided specific rates of sacrificial animals like sheep & goat (alive) as Rs 180 per/ kg and the rates of chicken besides other commodities fixed earlier shall prevail.Mr. Malik directed the officers of Food Safety, Legal Metrology and FCS&CA to strictly enforce the rates fixed in the meeting .
