Describing Rogi Kalyan Samiti meetings as an essential management tool for optimum outcome, Speaker, Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta, on Monday necessitated a regular follow up action on the decisions being taken to improve patient care in Government Hospitals.The Speaker, while chairing a meeting of Rogi Kalyan Samiti (RKS) at Rajiv Gandhi Hospital, exhorted upon the hospital management to take these meetings as guiding directions and ensure that the decisions are translated into action in a total professional manner. “Unproductive meetings can only result in substantial loss to an organization”, he asserted.Elucidating the objective and activities of RKS, the Speaker said that it is a simple yet effective management structure to manage the affairs of a hospital. He said that such organisations further supplement the government’s initiatives of promoting the quality of services being extended to the people.Speaker reviewed various works being taken up in the hospital to upgrade power back up, improve waste disposal & sanitation, construction of toilets, repair and renovation etc. He directed the authorities to keep provision for a pharmacist, an ambulance and a driver for night duty in the hospital.
Kavinder Gupta took stock of progress on implementation of decisions of last meeting and asked to further streamline the process.The Speaker asked the officers to prepare a comprehensive proposal for establishment of an AYUSH OPD in the hospital.While taking stock of achievements of the hospital, he expressed satisfaction over the improvements made in different units and sections. He was optimistic that the doctors and hospital management will work with same zeal and dedication to satiate patient’s expectations.The Medical Superintendent raised a number of issues which were discussed threadbare. The meeting was attended by all RKS members, officials of PHE, JMC, PWD and PDD.
