Punjab Irrigation Minister and Sahnewal MLA Sharanjit Singh Dhillon today said that the Punjabis have already made up their mind to reject both the Congress and Aam Aadmi Party or any other political front in the upcoming Vidhan Sabha elections because people have full faith in the Shiromani Akali Dal-Bharatiya Janta Party led Punjab government. Mr Dhillon said that its open truth now that Congress, AAP or any other political front are groups formed by disgruntled lot of power hungry opportunist leaders, whose main aim is to grab power by using unfair means.Sharanjit Singh Dhillon said this while addressing a training camp for the Akali workers of Sahnewal constituency at a marriage palace on Chandigarh Road, near here today. This camp was attended by thousands of people, which comprised of a large number of women as well as youngsters. While addressing the gathering, Mr Dhillon said that such camps are being organised across the state so that the Akali workers are trained about educating the masses about various welfare schemes and development projects started by the SAD-BJP government in last more than nine years.

He said that the SAD-BJP coalition is focusing mainly on development and does not believe in politics of hatred. He said that the people have already seen the Anti-Punjab faces of both the Congress as well as the Aam Aadmi Party. Mr Dhillon stated that the Congress party has harmed the state religiously, economically and socially and now, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is treading in the same path followed by Congress, so both these parties need to be decimated for the betterment of the state. He said that it was Congress which perpetrated planned attack on Sri Harimandir Sahib as well as the 1984 Sikh Genocide, which had tormented the Sikh psyche. He said that the Congress did not stop here as they gave Punjab’s share of river waters to Rajasthan, started the construction of Satluj-Yamuna Link canal and ruined the state’s economy by giving financial sops to industry in neighboring states. He said that Chandigarh and Punjabi speaking areas were never given to Punjab, which led to social imbalance in the state.

Mr Sharanjit Singh Dhillon said that now the AAP is also moving in the same direction and filed an affidavit in the Supreme Court of India regarding river waters of Punjab and by comparing their election manifesto with Holy Scriptures; it is also moving on the footsteps of Congress party. He said that such tactics of both these parties have hurt Punjab, Punjabi and Punjabiat, so all of us should remain vigilant from both the parties. While speaking on the occasion, Youth Akali Dal leader Mr Simranjit Singh Dhillon told the gathering that the Shiromani Akali Dal-Bharatiya Janta Party led Punjab government has started several welfare schemes for the betterment of people from all sections of the society. He said that the Punjab government paid more than Rs 50,000 crore from the government treasury for the electricity bills of tube wells of farmers.

He said that had the state government not paid this amount, the farmers, who are already reeling under agriculture debt, would have suffered a burden of Rs 50,000 crore. He informed that the state is now providing interest free loan of Rs 50,000 for farmers, besides free health treatment of up to Rs 50,000 for them, blue card holders, traders and construction workers. He said that there is also a provision of an insurance of Rs 5 lakh in case the head of family dies in an accident or incapacitation. He informed that pensions disbursed under social security have been increased and Punjab is the only state which provides free treatment for cancer patients and now, patients of Hepatitis-C would also get free treatment in all government hospitals of the state.

He said that on the other hand the AAP leaders are suffering from casteist intoxication and that is why, they are making a mockery of people from economically weaker sections of the society as well as the Dalits. Mr Dhillon said that maybe AAP leaders doesn't realise that it is the duty of every government to stand by every needy and poor person. He said that they should understand that people don't become beggars by receiving help and facilities out of their own money (public exchequer). He said that for him as well as for the entire SAD-BJP leadership, these people are supreme, but maybe AAP leaders wont understand that because they are intoxicated with high caste attitude of looking down upon those who need and deserve help.
