DC Kulgam reviews Eid-ul-Azha arrangements

To ensure that proper arrangements are well in place for the celebration of Eid-ul-Azha, Deputy Commissioner, Kulgam, Mr. Showkat Aijaz Bhat today chaired a meeting of district officers here at meeting hall DC Office.ADC, ACR, Exens of PDD, PHE, Dy.CMO, Chief Animal/Sheep Husbandry Officer, Anantnag, all Tehsildars, AD Food, Deputy Director Fire and Emergency, Food Safety Officer, Executive Officers of Municipal Committee/Councils, Deputy Registrar Cooperatives, AD Fisheries and other concerned officers.The availability of essential commodities including rice, atta, sugar and kerosene, transport arrangements, cleanliness of Mosques, streets and Eidgahs, ambulance services, uninterrupted power and water supply and repairs and renovation of roads were discussed threadbare in the meeting.Deputy Commissioner instructed AD Food to ensure the availability & distribution of essential commodities well before Eid. 

He was also instructed to ensure that essential items are available at fair rates. Deputy Chief Medical Officer was instructed to keep ambulance services in a state of readiness and ensure duty of doctors and paramedical staff.

Chief Animal Husbandry Officer was directed to make sure the availability of poultry birds on concessional rates all around the District. Besides, he was instructed to keep available adequate stock of milk and milk products. For facilitating the public in general, District Sheep Husbandry Officer was instructed to ensure that adequate numbers of sacrificial animals are available. AD Fisheries apprised that fish shall be kept available at Kulgam, Chowalgam and Chanser.Executive Officers of concerned Municipalities were instructed to ensure proper cleanliness and sanitation around the centrally located mosques, streets and eidgahs. Besides, they were directed to get the street lights repaired at an earliest.PDD and PHE departments were instructed to ensure uninterrupted power and water supply during these days. In those areas where there is scarcity of water, PHE was directed to put in place water tanker services. R&B was directed to repair the roads and streets where any sort of such services is required.All the officers assured DDC that the necessary arrangements will be put in place in advance so that people shall not face any difficulty, whatsoever.
