DPM terms arrest spree of pro-freedom leader, activists, youth as unjustified

Condemns closure order of Kashmir centric news channels

While terming the arrest of pro-freedom leaders, activists and youth as unjustified, Democratic Political Movement (DPM) on Friday condemned the slapping of Public Safety Act (PSA) on party’s Zonal president of Shalimar, Fayaz Ahmad Ganaie and sending him to Kot Balwal jail.DPM’s spokesman, Yaar Muhammad Khan in a statement issued to press said that despite India is claiming to initiate talks and on other end they put the pro-freedom leadership and other senior Hurriyat leaders either under house arrest or under police custody.Khan said that at a time when the atrocities committed on Kashmiris continues in Kashmir, the talks on same era will be immoral.He termed the arrest of Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Muhammad Yasin Malik, party chairman, Advocate Muhammad Shafi Reshi, Altaf Ahmad Shah, Ayaz Akbar, Peer Saifullah, Advocate Zahid Ali, Noor Muhammad Kalwal, Showkat Ahmad Bakhshi and other pro-freedom leaders, activist and innocent youth as undemocratic and said India has surpassed all the records of committing atrocities on people as the forces have unleashed terror in Kashmir.Khan while condemning the slapping of PSA and shifting party’s Zonal president Shalimar, Fayaz Ahmad Ganie to Kot Balwal Jail, said that Ganie was not involved in any kind of antagonism activity but despite that PSA was slapped on him and thereafter was shifted to Kuthua jail in Jammu.The spokesman further condemned the forces action at Parimpora on Thursday evening during which a student was forced to jump in the river Jehlum thereby resulted in his killing.

Yar Muhammad while condemning the closure order of Kashmir centric news channels by government said that by ordering closure of the Kashmir centric news channels, India itself exposed that it has no value of democratic principles.
