Threatening posters warning telecommunication companies including state owned BSNL to dismantle their mobile towers in South Kashmir’s Tral Town have surfaced as a latest attempt was made recently when unidentified person torched a BSNL towner at Dadsara area of the town.Locals informed news agency CNS that they found posters of lesser known ‘militant’ group Lashkar-e-Islam pasted in several localities of Tral town including Chandrigam. Pertinently, this group was involved in mobile tower attacks in North Kashmir’s Sopore town last year while militant outfit Hizbul Mujhadeen had claimed that no such organization by name of Lashkar-e-Islam existed on ground.The threatening posters that were seen in different parts of Tral asked people to dismantle mobile towers. Telecommunication links are already weak in Kashmir owing to the state government sponsored ban on mobile internet and outgoing call facilities.When contacted a police official said that they also came to know that miscreants have pasted posters in various villages of Tral. “We are looking at the matter,” he said.
