The Shiromani Akali Dal today asked AAP’s national convener Arvind Kejriwal to come clean on allegations by his own party men that he had plotted and fanned a civil war among Punjabis and Sikhs as part of the age old policy of “divide and rule” and emerge as the party’s Chief Minsitrial face in Punjab.”Leave Punjab to Punjabis. The proud people of this state will never allow UP gangsters or their Haryana chieftain to rule over Punjab. And Kejriwal must stop these conspiracies of setting brother against brother just for establishing personal hegemony in the party, especially with regard to Punjab in order to rule over people here,” Mr Harcharan Singh Bains , General Secretary and spokesman of the SAD in a statement here this afternoon. The latest to confess Kejriwal’s Chief Ministerial ambitions in Punjab is none other than his own spineless mouthpiece , Bhagwant Mann who has foolishly asserted that Punjabis themselves want Kejriwal to be the Chief Minister of their state.
The Akali spokesperson said, ”It is obvious that Kejriwal has used Bhagwant Mann to test the waters and see if Punjabis are willing to be ruled over by a non-Punjabi. We are shocked that Bhagwant Mann is willing to be used as His Master’s Voice against the people of his own state . Or is he really completely ignorant about the Punjabi temper and doesn’t realize that the proud people of this land of Gurus can never accept an outsider, especially a Haryanavi, to preside over their destiny. Mr Bains reminded Bhagwant Mann that neither Sonia Gandhi nor Arvind Kejriwal was from “Bhucho Mandi or Mansa. How could he then talk about Kejriwal being acceptable to Punjabis as CM? asked Mr BainsThe SAD saw Sucha Singh Chhotepur incident as only the latest link in the chain of conspiracies to defame and discard Punjabi leadership in AAP.
The party also demanded an apology from both Bhagwant Mann and Arvind Kejriwal for the “humiliating confession” about the latter’s Chief Ministerial ambitions.Mr Bains, who is also Advisor on National Affairs to the Chief Minister Mr Parkash Singh Badal, said that in the past it was only being murmured that non-Punjabis are insulting self-respecting Punjabi workers, leaders and volunteers in AAP, and using some weak, over-ambitious and traitorous people from the state to finally take over command here. But now events have proved that these reports were not just rumours. These have been confirmed by what has been coming out of the party time and again. “Too many leaders and workers of the Aam Admi Party have been confirming that Kejriwal is setting brother against brother in Punjab and weakening them so that he can finally emerge as the undisputed choice for the party’s Chief Ministerial face in Punjab,” said the Akali spokesperson.Bains further said that it was possible that Bhagwant, as usual, wasn’t in his normal senses when he blurted out this shocking party secret.
