Terming that the former Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh was habitual of misleading the people, the Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today said that before questioning other people, the former President of state Congress owes an answer to the Punjabis that why he had become the Chief Minister of the state after joining hands with the perpetrators of the Operation Blue Star. Interacting with the media persons on the sidelines of Sangat Darshan program of the Bhoa assembly segment here today, the Chief Minister said that it was ironic that Captain preferred to became the President of the state Congress and the Chief Minister of the state despite of the fact that this party had given a severe blow to Sikh psyche by attacking Sri Darbar Sahib and killing thousands of innocent Sikhs in carnage of 1984. On the contrary, Mr. Badal said that it was a well known fact that he was put behind the bars by the successive Congress governments as he had vehemently opposed any move of the Union government against the Punjab, Punjabi and Punjabiat. The Chief Minister said that he had thought that Captain would have learnt lesson from his rejection by the voters of the state time and again but recent utterances of the former Chief Minster has proved that ‘a leopard cannot change its spots’. “Everyone knows that the state has been a victim of the continuous anti-Punjab tirade by the Union Government and Captain was just misleading the people to score brownie points before the media” he added.

The Chief Minister reminded the people that Captain had made tall claims about the former’s property and after assuming power in 2002 he had also implicated their entire family in false cases. However he said that with the passage of time all these allegations of Captain fell flat, which reflected that it was a chronic habit of the former Chief Minister to mislead the people by issuing irrational statements. Mr. Badal said that it was a fact that whatever Captain speaks its opposite was the truth. He said that as the Congress high command had shown the door to Captain so he was making every desperate attempt to appease his bosses by unleashing a malicious propaganda against his political opponents. Training his guns against the state Congress President Mr. Partap Singh Bajwa, the Chief Minister said that he was also following the footsteps of his predecessor by issuing baseless statements against the state government. He said that both Captain and Bajwa should understand that the people of state were against the politics of vendetta and a testimony to it was that the Congress had been rejected by the people of state twice because of such policies of its leadership. The Chief Minister further said that well aware of their inevitable defeat in the ensuing general elections, the Congress party was shying away from naming its national Vice President Mr. Rahul Gandhi as its Prime Ministerial candidate. He said that Rahul was more powerful then the Congress President and even the Prime Minister in party hierarchy but he was hardly a match for the NDAs Prime Ministerial candidate Mr. Narendra Modi.

Badal reiterated that there was a vast difference between Mr. Modi and Mr. Rahul as the former was a seasoned and decisive administrator while the latter hardly had any experience of administration. When asked to comment on the future of third front in national politics, the Chief Minister said that it would hardly make any impact in the ensuing general elections. He said that the countrymen were solidly behind the NDA adding that it was a writing on wall that Mr. Modi would become the Prime Minister of the country after the Lok Sabha polls. Earlier addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said that the anti-Punjab stance of the Congress led UPA government at the centre has ruined the Industry and Agriculture of the state. He said that due to wrong policies of the Centre the hard working and resilient farmers of the state, who had played a pivotal role in making the country self reliant in food production, was reeling under a huge debt of Rs 32000 crore. Mr. Badal also said that the Congress party has always misled the downtrodden and weaker sections of the society for its vested political interests. The Chief Minister also said that due to the wrong policies of the UPA government the internal and external security of the country was in deep peril. Holding the Congress party responsible for social maladies faced by the country, he said that during the long misrule of Congress poverty, unemployment, starvation, illiteracy and other problems have made deep inroads within the country. On the occasion the Chief Minister while interacting with Mrs. Poonam Pathania, the wife of ‘Kirti Chakra’ late Mr. Ajay Pathania who was martyred during attack on Indian Embassy in Kabul way back in 2008, assured fulsome support and cooperation to her from the state government. The Chief Minister was accompanied by Deputy Speaker Punjab Vidhan Sabha Mr. Dinesh Babbu, MLA Mrs. Seema Kumari, former MP Mr. Vinod Khanna, State BJP President Mr. Kamal Sharma, former Minister Mr. Sucha Singh Langah, BJP Leader Mr. Swaran Salaria, Deputy Commissioner Mr. Sibin C and Senior Superintendent of Police Mr. Rakesh Kaushal.
