Punjab to soon have 200 skill centers: Sukhbir Singh Badal

The Punjab Deputy Chief Minister, S. Sukhbir Singh Badal today said that the state government is going to operationalise 200 skill centers at block level in the coming one and a half month time span in order to train the youth in different professional trades and help them earn their livelihood through self employment.Addressing a large gathering at old dana Mandi here before laying foundation stone of development projects worth more than Rs. 200 crore in Maur assembly constituency along with Public Works Minister Janmeja Singh Sekhon, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the state government would also provide financial help to the youth establishing their own enterprise. Coming to the developmental issues, S. Badal said that the SAD-BJP government has prepared a master plan to put in place a world class infrastructure in the rural areas under which 100 percent basic infrastructural amenities would be provided to the people in 12000 villages at a cost of Rs. 30000 crore. He also said that amenities would include clean drinking water supply, sewerage and water supply, sewerage treatment plant, construction of streets. 

Divulging more, he said that after urban sewa kendars, rural areas would see the opening of 2000 sewa kendars on 11th September in order to provide government services to the people near their door step.Sounding the poll bugle for 2017, S. Badal said that the political doom of Congress and AAP in next year’s assembly polls is the writing on the wall. Taking on the AAP, he said that it would not be able to mislead the people of Punjab through its mechanizations. Castigating Congress, S. Badal said that Captain Amarinder Singh did not initiate even a single public welfare project during his 2002-2007 tenures as Chief Minister. He also said that Congress & AAP are both engaged neck deep in votebank politics. The Deputy Chief Minister said that SAD-BJP alliance would romp home with flying colours in 2017 polls by winning 100 seats. 

The Deputy Chief Minister further said that during previous 9 years, SAD-BJP government has launched several schemes aimed at benefit of all the sections. He also said that Chief Minister S. Parkash Singh Badal deserves kudos for maintaining peace and communal harmony in Punjab. On the occasion, Public Works Minister Janmeja Singh Sekhon said that after independence, Punjab has been witness to record development in previous 9 years. He also elaborated that in previous years, Maur assembly constituency has seen development projects worth Rs. 450 crore executed. He asked  people to beware of the designs of opposition parties so as to continue the wave of development and prosperity unleashed by SAD-BJP government.After this, the Deputy Chief Minister laid the foundation stone of Rs. 70.85 crore worth maur-talwandi R.O.B., Rampura-Maur road being upgraded at a cost of Rs. 84.81 crore, Rs. 33.50 crore worth R.O.B. at Bhai Bakhtaur and Bhai Bakhtaur link channel.Among others present on the occasion were MLAs Sarup Chand Singla and Darshan Singh Kotfatta, Chairman Tejinder Singh Middukhera and other prominent personalities.
