Advisor to Chief Minister Prof Amitabh Mattoo has expressed remorse at the innocent killings and those injured and welcomed the initiative for dialogue process. He said that it is the time to bury all the political differences and rise above the party considerations to ensure welfare of people of Jammu and Kashmir especially the youth.The Advisor was interacting with a cross section of the civil society of India, besides various academicians, journalists, industrialists and other prominent at New Delhi.Prof Mattoo while expressing hope that the peace would be restored in the State said that the Government has taken several initiatives in this regard which need to be acknowledged. He said Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has played a pivotal and important role which needs to be recognised and appreciated by every section of society.The Advisor further hoped that the intelligentsia and the civil society would contribute their bit in helping the governments initiative to bring back peace so that the developmental programme’s get a fillip. He said that onus lies on every section of the society to supplement the initiatives being taken to restore normalcy in the state.
