Army while foiling an infiltration bid killed 3 militants today along the Line of Control in Tanghdar Sector of frontier district Kupwara.PRO Army Col. N. N Joshi while speaking to KNS said that the three militants killed are supposed been involved in the attack on the BSF post in Tangdhar sector on August 19 which left three troopers injured. The ambush was carried out jointly by 20 RR and 26 Rajputana Rifles near Nichian village in the foothills of Shamsbari range.“Three AK rifles, 15 AK magazines and other arms and ammunition were recovered from the killed militants and combing operation is still on,” Col N.N Joshi said to KNS.The group is believed to have recently crossed the LOC and the contact between the Army and militants resulted during wee hours of Sunday. However the identification of three killed is yet to be ascertained. (KNS)
