Srinagar , 20 Aug 2016

Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front Chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik Saturday said that the condemnation of united nation secretary general Ban ki Moon on Kashmir killings is good but international community, UN, OIC and UNHRC etc. need to take some concrete steps to save Kashmiris from Indian wrath. Ban on international Media, restrictions on local media, ban on internet, mobile phones and other means of communication a ploy of India and its Kashmiri stooges to suppress the reality of Kashmir and halt it from reaching to outside world.Incarcerated JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik in a message sent out from jail said that condemning Kashmir killings is a welcome step but Kashmir has been turned into a big jail from last 45 days with strict curfew in place and even essential services and basic necessities of life being barred from reaching its residents. More than 75 people have been killed and more than 7000 are injured among them hundreds have lost their eye sight and other vital organs. Even petrol, diesel and lifesaving drugs and milk for infants is being stopped from reaching to the needy and because of these harsh government measures a human catastrophe is taking birth but alas! No one among international community is raising his or her voice against this tyranny.

He said that Kashmiris being a part of human community and our nation being a disputed territory according to UN charter and resolutions, expect that UN,OIC,UNHRC and other institutions and governments will raise their voices against atrocities being committed on Kashmiris and will try to stop these atrocities but till now these hope have been shattered only. He said that condemnations are good but not enough and if international community is pained at what is happening in Kashmir they should do some practical work and take some concrete steps and use their good offices to save Kashmiris from the wrath of tyrants. He said that even during Wars essential services, media and means of communications are never stopped but for Kashmiris everything is being that can put them to hardship.Yasin Malik said that so many even from India, clearly accept the fact that Kashmir is not a law and order issue but a human issue and dispute which needs a political solution. He said that Kashmiris sacrificed lakhs of their lives and many of their generations for achieving a peaceful resolution of this dispute and the process of resistance and sacrifices is still going on and it is the duty of international community to enhance its efforts and resolve this dangerous issue on priority basis.

Yasin Malik said that 5000 year old history of Kashmiris bear a witness to the fact that Kashmiris have always been non-communal, non-violent and have always preferred peaceful co-existence. As a nation Kashmiris never glamorized violence but instead of this we have been subjected to worst kind of oppression and our peaceful voices have been and are being strangulated by military might. He said that prior to 1988, to demand for their birth right, Kashmiris strived peacefully but the doors of Red16 and other interrogation centers were opened on us and a whole generation was pushed to wall and forced to choose the other path.In 2008 this nation again transformed its struggle and perused peaceful mode of resistance but Indian rulers and their Kashmiri stooges instead of honoring it crushed it with military might and killed hundreds, injured and jailed thousands of young and old.Yasin Malik said that 2010 also witnessed same Indian attitude and now in 2016 spree of killings, arrests, nocturnal raids, injuries remain the same. He said that today again same story is being repeated by sending youth in thousands to jails and interrogations and humiliating them and their families continue hence pushing these young ones to the wall.

Yasin Malik who is himself in jail from last 45 days, said that today whole resistance camp is in jails or under house arrests and people are not given any chance to express themselves in a peaceful manner and this can only termed as worst kind of dictatorship and Policegiri. Yasin Malik said that if international community, saner voices in India and Indian civil society believes in some kind of humanity and democracy they should try to stop atrocities against Kashmiris and use their good offices to save Kashmiris. While condemning the attacks of Indian forces on ambulances and medical staff, Yasin Malik said that so-called rulers who on daily basis are giving sermons of civilized behaviors on TV should save some sermons for their killer forces and should stop these inhuman attacks on ambulances and medical staff.Meanwhile JKLF leader Noor Muhammad Kalwal has been shifted to central jail Srinagar from Rajbagh police station today while as another leader Showkat Ahmad Bakhshi still remains in police Chowki Bemina. JKLF strongly condemns the prolonged incarceration of its leaders and spree of nocturnal raids and crackdowns. (KNS)
