The NSS unit of Ludhiana College of Engineering & Technology organised a Tree Plantation Drive to sensitise the students about the tree plantation. The saplings were planted at Government Primary School, Bijlipur and Government Senior Secondary School, Kuba. Large clay pots and freshly dug earth mixed with manure was accommodated all around. The school gardeners offered friendly tips to ensure that each sapling was carefully tended. Later, students also expressed their views and felt motivated to save the environment.

Vijay Gupta, Chairman LCET while addressing the students highlighted the vital role played by trees in every body’s life and encouraged them to plant at least one tree so as to build a greener future. He later, emphasised the importance of such events and the need to inculcate such values among the students. He further informed that it is high time to save the earth otherwise coming generation will have to face dire consequences. He further promoted the usage of paper bags and make city plastic free, which would not only  beautify the surroundings but also lead to a greener, more eco-friendly and pollution-free environment.
