Former Union Minister and senior congress leader, Prof. Saifuddin Soz on Friday said that the killing of a lecturer at Khrew by the Army through severe and cruel beating deserves strongest condemnation. "It is the worst case of going berserk and taking law into their own hands by the forces who are supposed to be protecting lives of the people. Mere expression of regret by the army is not going to be carrying any message of remorse to the people," Soz told KNS. "The unit that brought misery to the whole village must be shifted forth with and then proper inquiry ordered within public knowledge."I would urge the central government to express a public apology for these inhuman atrocities committed against civilian population during dark hours of the night." "The law and order authorities have utterly failed to realise that these severe brutalities have tarnished the image of India before the international community," Soz added. (KNS)
