Free medicine centers in state to be operational next month: Sukhbir Singh Badal

The Punjab Deputy Chief Minister, Sukhbir Singh Badal today announced that the state would witness operationalising of more than 2000 free medicine centers next month where the medicines prescribed by the Government doctors would be provided free of cost. He further divulged that all the preparations regarding this have been completed and the novel initiative of SAD-BJP government would prove to be very beneficial for the common man.

Interacting with the media persons after laying the foundation stone of an R.O.B. (Railway Overbridge) at Ferozepur-Bathinda railway line, the Deputy Chief Minister castigated the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and described the mohalla clinics in Delhi as nothing more than a sham which is being hyped by Arvind Kejriwal led government by just opening 1 or 2 outlets in entire Delhi. He further said that the free medicine centers is an entirely different concept from mohalla clinics and also that the centers would actually benefit the common masses.

Addressing an impressive rally earlier, S. Badal announced that on achieving the hattrick of victories, all the villages of the state would see the concretization of streets & drains at a cost of Rs. 30000 crore. Divulging more, he said that the kind of development done by the SAD-BJP government in the previous 9 years has not been witnessed during the past 70 years time span. Calling Congress and AAP as anti-Punjab, S. Badal appealed to the people to strengthen SAD in order to ensure progress of Punjab.Taking on Captain Amarinder Singh, he said that the PPCC Chief cannot list even a single progress oriented initiative during his 2002-2007 tenure as Chief Minister. Describing AAP as anti-people and anti-development, S. Badal disclosed that with the imposition of tubewell bills as per the commercial rates, Arvind Kejriwal has clearly demonstrated his skill in misleading the public. 

The Deputy Chief Minister reiterated that the SAD-BJP government has delivered on its earlier promises and in future also it would continue the rapid pace of development in Punjab.Elucidating the overall development of Punjab as the biggest achievement of the SAD-BJP government, the Deputy Chief Minister said that Punjab has made giant strides in development only when S. Parkash Singh Badal led government has assumed the reins of state. He listed shagan scheme, pension scheme, atta-dal scheme, free bicycles for school girls, free health insurance scheme, free power to farmers, free power worth 200 units to the SC/BC families, distribution of sewing machines to women,  establishing skill centers, gyms & sports kits for youth,  sewerage and clean drinking water in 160 cities, dharamshalas in villages, making the state power surplus, establishing international airports and making Punjab top most state in road infrastructure as the crowning glories of SAD-BJP government.

The Deputy Chief Minister on the occasion laid the foundation stone of an R.O.B. on Ferozepur-Bathinda railway line. The R.O.B. of 1 kilometer length would be constructed in 2 years at a cost of Rs. 75.87 crore. The project on coming to fruition would benefit people commuting from Ferozepur to Moga and Zira besides ridding the people of the menace of traffic snarls.On the occasion, MLA Joginder Singh Jindu welcomed the Deputy Chief Minister and apprised him of the pressing problems of the area which S. Badal assured to resolve at the earliest besides pledging to give proprietary rights to the farmers of border areas having land outside barbed wire fence.Among others present included MLA Hari Singh Zira, Vardev Singh Mann, Chairman Co-operative Bank Punjab Avtar Singh Zira, Deputy Commissioner Engineer D.P.S. Kharbanda, and President Cantt Board Surinder Singh Babbu.
