New Delhi(IANS) , 04 Feb 2014

The AAP Tuesday protested outside BJP leader Arun Jaitley's house here for allegedly trying to buy off a party legislator. In a counter attack, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers also launched a protest and accused Delhi chief minister and AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal of betraying the people of Delhi.

Madan Lal, legislator from Kasturba Nagar, had said he was approached by Jaitley and BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi in a bid to topple the AAP's minority government in Delhi.Lal claimed he was offered as much as Rs.20 crore, but had no proof to back his allegations.Several Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) protesters gathered outside Jaitley's residence in south Delhi's Kailash Colony area in the morning and raised slogans and held banners against the leader. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers, countering the protest, attacked Kejriwal and accused him of not fulfilling the promises made to the people of Delhi before the assembly elections."It is disgraceful that the party is indulging in such gimmickry. It is shameful that this party has no model for governance and so it indulges in political gimmickry," BJP leader Smriti Irani said. The protesters from the two parties were separated by barricades. There was heavy deployment of police personnel, many of whom were in riot gear.Jaitley has rubbished Lal's claim and said: "AAP's alternative politics includes a fundamental right to falsehood and lies."
