National Conference (NC) on Saturday staged protest in Banihal against the civilian killings in Kashmir and submitted memorandum demanding stop of pellet guns on protesters. The protest led by Sajad Shaheen and NC district president assembled outside the road and marched towards SDM’s office to mark a protest against the civilian killings in Kashmir. They were chanting slogans against the government for “failing to maintain law and order in the Valley”.Sajad Shaheen while talking to KNS said that the Mehbooba Mufti led government has miserably failed to maintain law and order in the Valley. He said that they submitted memorandum before SDM for Governor demanding indiscriminate use of pellet guns should be stopped, curbs on excessive use of force, impress upon central government to initiate a dialogue with all the stakeholders and concert steps should be taken while addressing the Kashmir issue. The NC workers and leaders also sought Governor’s intervention in maintaining peace in the Valley.Pertinently, senior leaders of NC also staged protest march against the civilian killings in Kashmir. However, the march was foiled by the police at TRC. (KNS)
