President of India has approved the award of President’s Home Guard & Civil Defence Medal for Gallantry for the three Home Guards hailing from Punjab, informed an official spokesman of the government of Punjab.Giving details the spokesman said that on the occasion of Independence Day, 2016, Home Guard Bodh Raj, Desh Raj and Sukhdev Singh would be honoured posthumously with the said award.The three heroes breathed their last combating the terrorists in Dinanagar in district Gurdaspur on July 27, 2015.
